Philosophy of Development

Although each coach within WWFHA develops their own coaching philosophy, all center on the platform of WWFHA's focus on growth and development. Our mantra: 'focus on long term development, not short term wins.'

The coaches' structure for a successful season includes:

  • Creating a Plan
  • Positive Teaching Methodologies / Development for the female game
  • Motivating Players
  • Building a Team
  • Providing Feedback - evaluations

Our coaches work within the WWFHA program, which is carefully crafted to develop players for the female game in preparation for high levels of hockey, with female learning styles and methodologies in mind.

Coaching Applications Being Accepted

The Washington Wild are always accepting applications for qualified and talented team coaches, guest skills coaches, off-ice trainers, and lecturers to add to WWFHA’s teams and overall offering.  We actively seek coaches for both competitive and recreational teams at all age levels.

Please email a resume and/or brief background description and your interest area.

Thank you--we look forward to hearing from you!
