Female Bantam A Zone Development Program

WWFHA is proud to announce an exciting hockey development opportunity for 14U players for the upcoming 2018-2019 season. As members of the prestigious Pacific Coast Amateur Hockey Association (PCAHA), all WWFHA 14U players (Bantam age group in Canada), are invited to participate in the newly created Female Bantam A Zone Development Program.

The high performance and development program is a collaborative effort by the member associations of the PCAHA Female Hockey Committee to offer an elite development option to Female Bantam (14U) players. With a focus on skill development and feedback, the program will provide a high-performance experience while allowing players to remain on their female Bantam/14U teams.

The program consists of 3 stages:

  1. Tryouts/Evaluation (August 31st through to September 2nd)
  2. In-Season Development (5 weekends of high performance training)
  3. Showcase Tournament (a)(highly scouted by colleges and universities)

We encourage all eligible 14U players to tryout. The tryout weekend is not only about evaluations, but hockey development as well. Players will be given coaching both on and off the ice. The weekend will also address important aspects of being a hockey player and well-rounded athlete.

Each elite weekend will consist of 3 ice times, 3 off ice sessions, and 3 off ice semesters. High performance coaches and skill providers will run on ice sessions while professionals will lead off ice components. Total cost for 5 weekends will be approximately $1500 (CDN).

The final stage is a highly competitive East Coast tournament (TBD). Players participating in the 5 high-performance development weekends, will be ranked for participation on the tournament team. Tournament cost are not included.

“This is a tremendous opportunity for our players. High performance coaches will provide elite level hockey development and our players will learn from professionals what it takes to be successful student athletes. We are grateful to PCAHA for allowing WWFHA to participate.”

Tryouts will be held at Planet Ice Coquitlam, British Columbia. The cost will be $150.00 per player if registered before July 20th, and $200 if registered on or after July 20th. The tryout is open to Female players born in 2004 or 2005. All registrations must be received by no later than 5:00pm, August 29th, 2018.
