SinBin Article: Olympians Growing the Game in Seattle

The Seattle SinBin, the hockey arm of the SonicsRising online blog, points out the impact that the U.S. and Canadian Women’s Hockey Olympians have made in the Seattle area. They also mention WWFHA’s role in connecting players to some of the top female hockey players in the world.

The Seattle area boasts the presence of several female hockey Olympians. The NHL to Seattle group hosted Canadian Olympian Natalie Spooner in 2017, and WWFHA’s Honorary Board includes U.S. Olympians Michelle Picard and Lindsay Fry, who support the organization on several levels and mentor the student-athletes. In addition, Swedish Olympian Josefin Pettersson Shakya serves as an assistant coach for the 19UA team and on the WWFHA Pro-Staff as a physical therapist.

Despite their rivalry on the ice, all the Olympians are generous with their time and all want to grow the game.
