Team Takes Gold in the Surrey SuperHearts Tournament

The 14u Rep Tier 2 Washington Wild team takes home the gold medal in the championship title game in the Surrey SuperHearts Tournament.

The team played in the Surrey SuperHearts Tournament over the weekend against several teams from British Columbia and one team from Alaska. The Wild earned a 3-1 record in round-robin play of the tournament, losing to Surrey 2-1 in the first game, and then defeating Kelowna 4-2, North Shore 12-1, and Alaska 4-3.

The Wild met the host team, the Surrey Falcons, in the championship game on Sunday, which ended in a 3-3 tie after regulation time. A 5 minute over-time was played, however, neither team scored.  The Wild ended the game in a shootout in the fifth round on a goal by forward Kutes Kutes of Kirkland, and the stingy goaltending by Olivia Colgan of Maple Valley.

It was an excellent team victory where every player contributed and played hard! Congratulations Wild!
