2016 PNAHA Washington State Female Development Camp - registration is now open.  All games for WWFHA members that qualify have been moved so that everyone can participate.

Camp Dates: January 30 - 31, 2016

Registration Period:  December 30 - January 24, 2016 (midnight)

Eligible Birth Years:

  • Select 14 - Birth Year 2002
  • Select 15 - Birth Year 2001
  • Select 16 - Birth Year 2000
  • Select 17 - Birth Year 1999

Also invited but not evaluated:

  • Select 13 - Birth Year 2003
  • Select 18 - Birth Year 1998

The PNAHA Washington State Female Development Camp is considered to be ‘Open’ by USA Hockey, which means you are responsible for making your own arrangements for travel and accommodations.

Registration

  • Registration opens December 30, 2015 and closes January 24, 2016; payment is due at time of registration online.

  • Registration and payment are made on the PNAHA Washington State Female Development Camp website at the bottom of this page.

    Read and follow the instructions to Register:

  • When you are ready to register, click on the Rocky Mountain logo and follow the instructions.

  • Please note that the player statistics requested during registration do not have to be comprehensive.  They can be updated later in the season for players who successfully progress to the Multi-District Tryout and Evaluation Camp.

  • Attendance to the PNAHA Washington State Female Development Camp is required for evaluation and selection to attend the Pacific Districts Tryout/Development Camp (now called, the Multi-District Tryout and Evaluation Camp).  No exceptions to this will be allowed in 2016.

Guest Speaker & Evaluator - Kristen Wright

PNAHA is honored to have Kristen Wright, USA Hockey Manager of Girls' Player Development, as a guest speaker and evaluator at the 2015 PNAHA Washington State Female Development Camp.

Kristen joined USA Hockey as its manager of girls player development in December 2014. Her resumé includes extensive experience in both the field of law and the field of sport.

A Minnesota native, Wright has a decorated career at Connecticut College, during which she was a two-time team captain, a NESCAC Academic All-American, a NESCAC All-Sportsmanship player and an AWCHA National Scholar Athlete selection. She graduated magna cum laude in 2008 with a bachelor’s degree in sociology and international relations.

After her time in Connecticut, Wright moved west to pursue her law degree at the University of Colorado. During her tenure in Boulder, she also guided the University of Colorado women’s ice hockey team, earning recognition as 2014 Collegiate Sport Clubs Coach of the Year, while founding the ACHA’s Western Women’s Collegiate Hockey Association. At the same time, she obtained certification as a USA Hockey Level 4 referee and was invited to participate in USA Hockey’s Women’s Regional Officiating Camp.

Following her graduation with a juris doctor degree in 2011, Wright served as senior associate counsel at a Colorado law firm. She also had her first taste of international hockey competition as an assistant coach for the 2013 U.S. Women’s National University Team. Additionally, she served as an evaluator at USA Hockey Player Development Camp tryouts for the Rocky Mountain and Pacific districts.

Shortly after joining USA Hockey in 2014, Wright again stepped behind the bench for the U.S. Women’s National University Team, this time as head coach of the American entry in the 2015 Winter World University Games.

Guest Speaker & Evaluator - Stacey Rondeau Livingston

PNAHA is honored to have Stacey Rondeau Livingston as a guest speaker and evaluator at the 2016 PNAHA Washington State Female Developed Camp -- bringing collegiate playing and coaching experience, international officiating experience, and 10 years evaluating both players and officials in USA Hockey camps and festivals.

Stacey has served as a women's ice hockey official in the Olympics, and is now the Supervisor of Officials for the Women's World Championships and the Olympics.

Stacey has been involved in women's hockey for almost 30 years as a player, coach and an official. A native of Whitesboro, NY, Stacey attended the University of Maine in Orono, Maine where she played for the University's Women’s Ice Hockey team. After graduating from college, Stacey coached at the University of Maine and then at Colby College, in Waterville, Maine. Stacey has officiated at the youth, high school, college and international levels over the course of her career.

Stacey currently resides in Richmond, Virginia with her husband Jay and their 3 children,  Jayci, Reilly and Jake, where she works as a USA Hockey Referee Instructor and an IIHF Referee Supervisor.

What is the Washington State Development Camp?

  • The Washington State Development Camp in Bellingham, WA is the precursor to the Multi-District Tryout/Development Camp, From there, players shall be selected to attend the USA Hockey National camp.

Who is the State Camp for?

  • The Camp is for ALL Washington State female players, who are US citizens, born in designated birth years, who play ice hockey. Most team schedules have been adjusted to not conflict with the Camp, so we encourage every age-appropriate girl to attend.

What else will the State Camp do for me?

  • Players will have the opportunity to improve and test their skills by playing with and against other female players from state in skill sessions (first day) and scrimmages (second day). Additional ice time, exposure to a broad pool of players and coaches, and the opportunity to compete at a higher level will aid in players’ growth and development.  Whether or not a player is selected to move on to subsequent USA Hockey camps, she will gain from this unique, fun and challenging hockey experience.

How will this help my goal to play collegiate hockey?

  • Besides acquiring information from the session on the collegiate process, additional opportunities to play at the state, district and national level always helps with exposure to collegiate scouts. Moreover, additional ice time benefits your game, allowing you to progress to your next goal, whether that is making a local rep team or working towards a spot on a collegiate roster.

How much does it cost? What do I get?

  • The registration fee is $125. Each player receives and State Camp jersey ice sessions.

Why is the Pacific District Tryout/Development Camp in Colorado this year?

  • On October 24-25, 2014, the Pacific District Board of Directors met in Seattle.  At that meeting a decision to move forward with the new structure of a Multi-District Development and Evaluation Camp.  The Multi-District Camp shall include Pacific, Rocky Mountain, and Northern Plains districts, which is designed to mimic the National Camp format and will further develop, educate, and expose players to collegiate scouts.

If there is no way for a U14 player to go to the National Camp this year, why should I go to the District Camp?

  • NOTE: at beginning in 2015 there will not be a 14U National Camp
  • Besides the opportunity to “be seen” by a significant number of coaches and scouts, the camp provides huge player development opportunities and will prepare the 14U player with the ability to experience what they can expect to see during the 2016 Multi-District Evaluation Camp.
