Another fast and furious Western Washington Female Hockey Association (WWFHA) season flashes by with a lot of exciting news to report mid-season. Highlights:
Season Tryouts (August)
A record-setting number of players attended this year’s tryouts for the U14, U19 and U19 Rep teams!
Every player received a free hockey bag and practice jerseys, and local 2006 US Women’s Hockey Olympian Kelly Stephens Tysland was the keynote speaker.
New website launched that includes online registration, team pages, team and player stats, news, information, calendar, mobile app to follow teams, and more!

New this season, the honorary board supports the WWFHA mission, acts as advisors, and champions our organization.

Exhibition and placement games began in September--season started in October.
NPSHL League Games Begin for the U14 team
League games began in September.
Rep team comes together at the beginning of the season.

Both teams have a blast in Kamloops and show well.

Both teams enjoy the US vs. Sweden game and meet US National Team Players afterwards, asking questions and taking pictures.
U19 player, Leah Johnson, is selected to participate in the ‘Experience a Dream’ event. Leah skated in on-ice warm-ups with the US National team and stood on the blue line with the starting line-up during the national anthems!
The teams also attend the US vs. Canada Gold Medal Game with Canada winning in a shoot-out.

The Rep team travels to one of the most highly scouted tournaments in the US.
Several players visit local colleges and connect with coaches.
The Rep team travels to another prominent tournament in Toronto and continue connecting with collegiate coaches.

The U19 team competes outdoors in near-zero degree temperatures and snow.

Summer team in the Beantown Classic – Marlboro, MA (July)
A team will travel to Marlboro, MA to attend one of the premier amateur showcase events with over 180 scouts in attendance.
