'Seattle Wild' Summer Team in Beantown Classic - Scouted Tournament - Open Tryouts!

What is the Beantown Classic?

The Women's Beantown Classic is one of the most prestigious summer tournaments in female hockey. Teams match up and play in front of college scouts. Over the last four years the Women’s Beantown has grown into the premier amateur showcase event in the United States. 'Seattle Wild' Summer Team Open Tryouts - APRIL

The Washington Wild will be entering a team in the Beantown Classic.

Tryouts
Location: Olympicview Arena  - 22202 70th Ave W, Mountlake Terrace, WA 98043
  • Saturday, April 18, 2015 - 10:00 am to 11:00 am
  • Saturday, April 18, 2015 - 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm
  • Sunday, April 19, 2015 - 10:00 am to 11:00 am

Cost: $40 US

*Note: Cuts will be made after each session

'Seattle Wild' Summer Team Training Sessions - JULY

Practices will be held once the team is selected.

Practices
  • Friday, July 17, 2015 - 1:15 pm to 2:15 pm at Kingsgate
  • Saturday, July 18, 2015 - 10:30 am to 11:30 am at Kingsgate
  • Saturday, July 18, 2015 - 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Kingsgate 

Costs

  • Tryouts - $40 US
  • Team - $479 US - includes practices, coaches' travel and tournament fees

Payments are due at time of tryouts and team selection.

*Does not include: summer hockey insurance, player airfare, hotel, rental car or food

Other Details

  • Tryouts are open to any female ice hockey players
  • Flight, hotel and meals are the responsibility of the player
  • If a player is in need of lodging for the practice weekend, hosting families can be arranged or players may stay at local hotels if need-be
  • Costs must be paid up-front and if full
  • Suggested travel:
    • If you plan to attend the pre-tournament scouting session and skills camp, plan to fly out on Sunday, July 19th
    • If you don't plan to attend the pre-tournament scouting session and skills camp, please plan to fly out on Thursday, 23rd (teams flying in won't have games Thursday night)
  • Pre- and post-tournament training and scouting events are available to all players and players must register for them on their own (see below)

EXTRA SCOUTING / MORE OPPORTUNITIES

Additional Beantown Training and Collegiate Exposure - Pre and Post-Tournament

For the first time, the Beantown Classic is hosting training sessions before and after the tournament. The training will include working with collegiate coaches and focusing on skill development (players are welcome to participate in both camps).

Pre-Tournament Training Camp

  • Dates: July 20th-22nd, 2015
  • Note: The Women’s Beantown will take place July 23rd-27th, 2015
  • Location: New England Sports Center, Marlboro MA
  • Details:
    • Camp will include five 90-minute on ice sessions
    • one meal on Monday and Wednesday,
    • Off Ice and Nutrition training seminar,
    • College Coach Q&A
    • Academic Advisor Class.
  • Focus:
    • The focus of our pre-Beantown training camp will be to prepare each player to be at their very best for the tournament.
    • Our on ice sessions will focus heavily on individual skill development.
    • We will have high tempo skates in a team practice format with an emphasis on getting each player at the top of their game for tournament time.
  • Collegiate Coaches: All on ice sessions will be run exclusively by college coaches and scouts.

Post-Tournament  Skills Camp

  • Dates: July 27th-29th, 2015
  • Location: New England Sports Center, Marlboro MA
  • Details:
    • Camp will include five 90-minute on ice sessions
    • one meal on Monday and Wednesday,
    • Off Ice and Nutrition training seminar,
    • College Coach Q&A
    • Academic Advisor Class.
  • Focus:
    • give players another opportunity to showcase their abilities in a more intimate setting with collegiate coaches.
    • more of a focus on small area games, scrimmages and position specific skill work and training to give forwards, defenseman and goalies a maximum opportunity to showcase their skills.
  • Collegiate Coaches:
    • All on ice sessions will be run exclusively by college coaches and scouts.
