The Wild 19U Rep team has the honor of going skate to skate against the Mexican National Team. The Mexican Ice Hockey Federation has been a member of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) since 1985 but the women’s team didn’t play their inaugural games until February 2012. They have only played two international exhibition games, both against Argentina. Their record is 1-1 in international play.

Total players (men and women): 1568
Girls/women players: 102
Total referees: 20
Total rinks: 20

Mexico entered Wickfest to participate against Canadian and US Midget teams in an effort to grow not only their program but to strengthen and grow the female game worldwide. Our players are very excited to be a part of this effort. They appreciate what surely must be a challenge in a country where only 102 girls/women play the sport.

Come support our teams in this international women’s hockey competition Friday, November 16 through Sunday, November 18. The Wild 19U Rep team takes on the Mexican National Team Saturday evening at 7pm on Rink 6, Burnaby 8 Rinks.
