The Wild is Growing!

Western Washington Female Hockey Association is growing!

From three teams in 2014 to seventeen (!) this past season, WWFHA is the future of girls hockey in Washington State. With the amazing growth of our association comes greater opportunities for girls in the area – we are expanding from four to SIX PCAHA teams next season!

Our PCAHA teams:

16UAA – Our 16UAA team plays in the highly competitive Midget A division and provides girls who aspire to a college hockey career the chance to be seen on a national stage – this team attends several highly scouted tournaments per season, and our High-intensity Development Program takes these girls above and beyond their current level.

19UA – This team plays in the Midget division, providing both an important developmental step for girls trying to reach the next level of hockey, as well as a place to play throughout their high school and early college career. Players from this team have gone on to NCAA hockey, club hockey, and NHL jobs.

14UAA – Our 14UAA team prioritizes development and gets the girls in this important age group ready for their next step, whether that is 16UAA or 19UA. This age group is also the first where players attend the Pacific Region Districts Tournament that qualifies teams to move on to Nationals.

12UAA – Our 12UAA team will be in the Peewee A division of PCAHA this coming season for the first time! We have seen such success with our younger girls, and we are excited to be able to provide them with the competition they need to grow and develop at the highest levels.

12UA – NEW TEAM – We are expanding our 12U offerings this season by making the incredible PCAHA experience open to more girls throughout the region. Girls who are not quite ready for the 12UAA team will have the opportunity to play on our 12UA team, which will tier in the Peewee Division of PCAHA. The growth and development on this team will be incomparable.

10UB – NEW TEAM - This is an amazing opportunity for 10U girls in this area, and a first for Washington State! Our 10U B team will play an interlock schedule with teams from the mainland of B.C. An interlock schedule is less intensive than a regular season Pacific Coast schedule, which will allow our 10U girls to have the best of both worlds – high-level girls’ competition, and a schedule that keeps them at home the majority of the time. We are so excited about this new team and the opportunity this gives our hockey community.

Washington Wild is the only US female association with teams in the highly competitive Pacific Coast Amateur Hockey Association (PCAHA) League in the lower mainland B.C. Our girls get to play consistent, competitive hockey at their level – no scrambling for exhibition games against local boys teams or flying too many weekends around the country searching for appropriate competition. Our partnerships with established off-ice training programs and facilities provide the well-rounded training program that has been helping to put Wild girls in college and AAA hockey programs around the country for years!

One of WWFHA's greatest strengths is that we provide female role models for our players. Did you know that within our > 40 fully qualified coaches, we have over a dozen female coaching staff? We plan to have at least one female coach with every PCAHA team and every WWFHL age group. This notable group of women includes

  • An Olympic silver medalist in women's hockey
  • An NCAA D1 player who made 3 appearances at the Final Four
  • An ACHA D1 goaltender who made the ECWHL First Team
  • An NCAA D3 player
  • A current UW Husky (playing on the men's team)
  • A player from a nationally ranked senior women's team
  • A national champion in-line hockey player

Come and join not only the premier girls’ hockey association in the state, but the only association with girls as its number one priority.
Girls are our first and only mission – your daughter will be a valued member of our hockey family! We look forward to meeting you. Contact us at
