Western Washington Female Hockey Association COVID-19 Update

The Western Washington Female Hockey Association family hopes that all of our member family and friends are staying healthy through these challenging and unprecedented times. As we all deal with the changes to our lives and our schedules, we look to our extracurricular sports activities to keep us physically and mentally healthy.

WWFHA continues to diligently follow the King County Department of Health guidelines as well as the directions of Governor Jay Inslee for Washington State. We are currently in Postponed status for all of our spring/summer programs until further notice. Once the restrictions are lifted for our state and county, we will update our members.

Thank you for being WWFHA family and for all your support!

THANK YOU FOR A SUCCESSFUL GIRLS' TRY HOCKEY FREE!

Thank you to all the Washington Wild players, parents, and coaches who came out to make our February Girls' Try Hockey Free / USA Hockey National Try Hockey Free event such a success for our newest initiates to the rewarding sport of hockey!

Special shout outs to Wild Bird; Jim E, our Equipment Director; Abby E, our WWFHL Director; John B, our LTP Lead Coach, Jason G., and Bryan E., our on-ice THF Lead Coaches; and Allison A., for Try Goalie Free assisting.

26 new-to-hockey players took the ice. Thank you to all of you parents, grandparents, relatives, friends who made it to our event and gave your player an opportunity to fall in love with hockey.

Welcome to the Washington Wild

The Western Washington Female Hockey Association (WWFHA) was established in 2002 when a group of dedicated parents desiring a place for their daughters to play ice hockey started the association with three teams.

As the association has grown, several distinct teams have been created to support the age and ability levels:

  • Learn to Play Program (Hockey 1 and Hockey 2)
  • 8U  - 17U Rec/House Teams
  • 10U PCAHA Interlock (B) Team
  • 12U Rep Tier 3/A Team
  • 12U Rep Tier 2/AA Team
  • 14U Rep Tier 2/AA Team - Nationally bound
  • 17U Rep Tier 2/AA Team - Nationally bound as 19U Rep Tier 2 Team
  • 19U Rep Tier 3/A Team

In the last ten years, WWFHA has transitioned from a recreational club providing girls an opportunity to play ice hockey to an association aiming to meet the competitive and recreational goals of each and every female hockey player.

WWFHA is a member of USA Hockey, Pacific Northwest Amateur Hockey Association (PNAHA), and the prestigious Canadian Pacific Coast Amateur Hockey Association (PCAHA) female division.
