Welcome to WWFHA!

The Western Washington Female Hockey Association (WWFHA) was established in 2002 when a group of dedicated parents desiring a place for their daughters to play ice hockey started the association with three teams.

In the last ten years, WWFHA has transitioned from a recreational club providing girls an opportunity to play ice hockey to an association aiming to meet the competitive and recreational goals of each and every female hockey player.

For the upcoming season (2024-2025), WWFHA will be offering

  • 14U House (rec)

  • 19U House (rec)

Seattle Junior will be offering all-girls teams at the following ages:

  • 8U
  • 10U
  • 12U

WWFHA has partnered with Seattle Junior to form the Seattle Red Hawks, a rep program that provides competitive development and localized play in the PCAHA Female league. Tryouts will be held for the following teams:

  • U13 A1 & A2 (2012s & 2013s)

  • U15 A1 & A2 (2010s & 2011s)

  • U18 A1 & A2 (2007s-2009s; 2006 Birth years will also be considered and are highly encouraged to try out)

U15 and U18 A1 teams have the option of being nationally bound teams in their respective US Girls divisions.

We are also actively working to offer more opportunities for all-girls teams and will continue to share out those plans to our community.

WWFHA is a proud member of USA Hockey, Pacific Northwest Amateur Hockey Association (PNAHA) and the prestigious Canadian Pacific Coast Amateur Hockey Association (PCAHA) female division.

Want to be more involved? Board committees forming now!

We are in the process of creating committees to help with the several big tasks ahead for the Wild. If you are interested in joining, please fill out the special interest form so we can get you connected.

  1. Association Branding - improving how we showcase ourselves - our culture, our value, and the importance of all female hockey
  2. Short term strategy planning - working to recover, protect, and/or improve all of our programs for the next 3-5 years
  3. Long term strategy planning - planning what the next 5-10 years looks like as an association and avenues to make that possible
  4. Program Advocacy - public outreach/accountability

By WWFHA Board 07/01/2023, 9:45am PDT

Two Washington Wild players have been invited to participate in the Pacific Coast District Development Program!

Frances Foy and Presley (Moose) Gulick from the WWFHA 12UAA team have been accepted into the PCAHA High Performance U13 District Development Program for 2022-23.

This program provides Elite Development weekends for the top U13 players playing in British Columbia. We are incredibly proud of these girls for making such a strong showing at the tryouts and representing our Wild program with excellence!

The PCAHA District Development program's mandate is to provide a pathway of excellence for players looking to challenge themselves and take their game to the next level at U18AAA or collegiate hockey.
