The Washington Wild 19U and 14U Rep AA teams from the Western Washington Female Hockey Association win the 14th Annual 2017 MLK Girls/Women’s Ice Hockey Tournament Championship title in San Jose, CA in their respective age groups!
2017 MLK 19U Tournament Champions
The Washington Wild 19U Rep AA team defended their 2016 Championship title by defeating the Colorado Select 5-1 in the Championship game to take home gold for the second year in a row. In their undefeated tournament run, they beat the Utah Lady Grizzlies (3-0), Colorado Select (4-0), Anaheim Lady Ducks (4-0) and Colorado Tigers (6-0) in pool play before winning the finals. The team tallied 21 goals, with 3 goals from the power play, and only 1 goal against in five games.
Allison Reeb from Bellingham had a break-out weekend for the 19U AA team, scoring 10 goals and 2 assists for 15 points in 5 games. She had 2 hat tricks in the tournament, both against the Colorado Select. The first was in the 4-0 win in round robin play and the second was in the Championship game.
Goaltenders Anna Stensland of Shoreline notched 3 shutouts in 4 games and turned away 43 shots for a Goal Against Average of .25 and a Save Percentage of .977
Next, the the 19U AA team will travel to Anaheim, CA to participate in the Pacific District 19U Tier 2 Championships March 1 - 5, 2007 for a spot to USA Hockey Nationals.

The Washington Wild 14U Rep AA team took gold by beating the Anaheim Lady Ducks 3-2. In their undefeated tournament run, they beat the Anaheim Lady Ducks G2 (3-2), Dallas Stars Elite (2-1), and Anaheim Lady Ducks G3 (5-2) in pool play. They sent the Anaheim Lady Ducks G3 home (4-0) before winning the finals. The team tallied 16 goals, 1 from a power play and 1 on a penalty kill, and only 6 goals against in five games.
Halle Hansen from Bellingham and Abby O’Neill also had a strong weekend with the 14U AA team. They both had 4 goals and 1 assist in five games, for five points each.
Goaltender Victoria Scharkov played in all five games, took 125 shots, allowed only 6 goals in the net for a 1.20 Goals Against Average and a Save Percentage of .952
