Special Skate and Autograph Session with the National Team

The U.S. Women's National Hockey Team visited Western WWFHA’s Washington Wild teams during the National team's preparation for the IIHF Worlds in Kamloops, B.C. Canada.

The US National team held a pre-camp at Xfinity Arena in Everett for a week and took time out to practice with the all-girls association. National team players Kendall Coyne, Nicole Hensley, Kacey Bellamy, and Megan Bozek joined the first session with the Washington Wild 14U, 12U, 10U and 8U teams.

Players worked in groups on various skills with the National players, including a game of tag with Kendall Coyne. Coyne, known to be the fastest female hockey player in the world, recently received the NCAA D1 Patty Kazmaier Award, as the best collegiate player in the country.

The second session involved the 19U Rep, 19U Travel and 14U Rep teams with National team players Dana Trivigno, Annie Pankowski, and Jocelyne Lamoureux-Davidson.

The older group excitedly participated in small scrimmage sessions with some of their favorite stars!

Later, Alex Carpenter, Jessie Vetter, Shiann Darkangelo, Monique Lamoureux and Haley Skarupa signed autographs for players, who were thrilled to meet some of their hockey role models.

The US National team faces Canada tonight for the Gold in the 2016 IIHF Ice Hockey Women’s World Championship in Kamloops, British Columbia.
