New Performance Conditioning for the Washington Wild

WWFHA is excited to announce a partnership with Engineered Sports of Everett. The partnership will offer Washington Wild players world-class off-ice sports performance conditioning and other hockey-specific athlete training services to help them reach their potential.

Engineered Sports offers the best in integrated support from specialists in performance training, physical therapy, massage therapy and nutrition, all under one roof, to help athletes maximize their potential. 

This integrated approach allows for athletes to get a comprehensive and consistent level of care by a team of professionals that are looking out for the athlete. 

The goal of Engineered Sports, much like that of WWFHA, is to develop healthy, well-rounded and well-balanced athletes.  Their team of performance specialists are constantly collaborating on each athlete’s individual needs in order to build and maintain optimal performance and sustainability to help grow athletes that are stronger, faster, better fueled through nutrition, less prone to injury, and have the right mindset to compete at the highest levels.

Bob Hemre

Joining the WWFHA Pro-Staff are Bob Hamre, AT/L, ATC, CSCS -- owner and director of off-ice sport performance/conditioning and concussion management at Engineered Sports. Bob began his athletic training and strength and conditioning career in 1998, working with high school teams including the 2002 State Champion Archbishop Murphy Wildcats. Lance Miller

Also joining Bob on the WWFHA Pro-Staff is Lance Miller, PT, CSCS, MBA-Health – owner and director specializing in physical therapy and sports nutrition at Engineered Sports. Lance Miller is a Performance Physical Therapist and Strength & Conditioning Coach with over 14 years’ experience working with athletes and competitors in Washington State. Benefits of the Partnership for the Washington Wild Players

In addition having Bob and Lance on the WWFHA Pro-Staff where they can support and further develop players and coaches, Engineered Sports will be integrated into all aspects of the WWFHA Family and offerings.

2016 Wild Camps

Performance coaches from Engineered Sports will be working with the Washington Wild athletes at the 2016 Wild May and June Camps. The camps will feature three on-ice sessions run by 19u Rep head coach, Shaun Miller, and three off-ice hockey-specific performance training sessions run by Engineered Sports performance coaches. For the remainder of this season (2015 – 2016), Engineered Sports will provide discounted services on several of their offerings:

WWFHA is excited to improve their current off-ice program with the sport-specific athlete training, concussion management, and screenings offered by Engineered Sports.

  • Sports Performance Off-Ice Training Memberships – group or private sessions: All WWFHA athletes will be offered 15% off current rates. Teams or a group of teammates can sign up and select a focus area, which includes (as young as 11-12 years old):

    • Strength & Power Training

    • Speed-Agility-Quickness Training

    • Core Performance Training

    • Plyometric Training – Jump Training

    • Dynamic Balance Training

    • Sports Nutrition Education

    • Mindset Training

  • Concussion and Injury Management

    • Discount on concussion baseline testing from $25.00 to $15.00 for all athletes in WWFHA. Tests are for athletes 10 and older and should be retested yearly, or after injury.

    • Free screenings for possible concussion are available to athletes that have been baseline tested and are suspected of having a concussion.

    • Athletes can also receive injury screenings and advice regarding chronic pain, return-to-play decisions, and home exercise plans.

      Next Season (2016 – 2017), the above services will be available in addition to:

  • Pre-Practice and Game Workouts - Starting in 2016-2017 Engineered Sports will work with coaches and players of each team to set up pre-ice movement prep for practices and games.
