A bit more about WWFHA

WWFHA’s Board has over 100 years of combined hockey experience, with several board members that have direct connections to NCAA non-varsity and ACHA non-varsity scouts and coaches, as well as the USA Hockey Women’s Director / U.S. National Team GM and Director of Female Development.  These board members have a long history of aiding players from the U.S. and Canada in securing spots and scholarship on collegiate teams for the past twenty years – several that became captains of their college teams and others that played on the U.S. and Canadian National teams. Two board members have their coaching memorabilia hanging in the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto, Canada for being the first women to coach men’s collegiate hockey at any level, and one coach was entered into the ACHA Hall of Fame as the founder of the national women’s collegiate non-varsity division, and was honored to have the ACHA Women’s Division D1 and D2 Player of the Year award in her name.

WWFHA continues to attract the most experienced, dedicated, female-game oriented coaches in the northwest to help your player reach her specific goals. Our tight-knit teams focus on the common goal of what is best for each player rather than on generating income (we are a not-for-profit organization with very little overhead). Did you know that WWFHA boasts no fewer than eight USA Hockey level 4 coaches and four level 3 coaches, all of whom are exclusively 100% dedicated to girls’ hockey? We are the experts on coaching girls, the nuances of the girls' game, and how to achieve the highest levels of play in female game. Our total commitment to girls' hockey and girls’ healthy lifestyles is for the long-term. WWFHA is dedicated to both elite and recreational players by providing teams to serve female players of every skill level.

In addition to benefitting from hockey skills, systems and team play during regularly scheduled weekly practices, players enjoy participating in the most competitive leagues for girls in the northwest, as well as in exhibition games and some of the most prestigious all-girl tournaments locally and nationally. WWFHA trains players on and off ice for optimal conditioning with state-of-the-art warm-up and conditioning programs recommended by experts. We continue to provide the free extras that round out the entire Wild experience, including regular access to professionals in the fields of athletic/academic collegiate process, well-body methodologies, hockey sports nutrition, student counseling support, and alternative core training such as yoga. You can learn about our pro-staffers here: http://www.wwfha.com/pro-support-staff. WWFHA provides guest speakers on other topics to provide a thorough, well-rounded girls’ hockey experience, unmatched in Washington State.

WWFHA is expanding our Honorary Board, which is comprised of members and leaders in the community such as 2006 Olympic Bronze Medalist in Women's Ice Hockey -- Kelly Stephens Tysland. These advisors, counselors, and champions of the Washington Wild players and families support WWFHA’s mission to empower girls through ice hockey for more productive, healthy and happy lives.
