About Us


WWFHA is a non-profit (501-c3) association dedicated to promoting girls' ice hockey in the USA Pacific Northwest. We are a volunteer-run independent hockey association and are not affiliated with any youth association. WWFHA is a member of USA Hockey, Pacific Northwest Amateur Hockey association (PNAHA), Pacific Coast Amateur Hockey Association (PCAHA). We exist to give girls the opportunity to play on all-girl teams, regardless of ability or experience.

Our goals are:
• to offer girls who don't wish to play on youth teams an avenue to continue playing
• to offer extra coaching and playing opportunities to girls who play on youth teams
• to let girls experience playing on an all-girl team
• to showcase the talents of skilled players
• to give girls the opportunity to learn to play hockey
• to have fun playing hockey

Our objective is to promote hockey as a sport for girls. We intend to be an alternative for girls who don't want to play on youth teams or who want to play and be seen on a girls' team as well.
• If you're under eight, we encourage you to join the beginners program or to play on a youth team for one of the local youth associations. We will hold coaching clinics for you several times each season.
• If you're age eight or above, you're invited to join WWFHA, either as an alternative to or in addition to your participation on a youth team. USA Hockey allows girls to play for two associations at the recreational (house) level.
• If you're a beginning player, you'll will be placed on a team that matches your ability, regardless of age.
• You can join anytime during the season, if space is available (September to March). We pro-rate our fees for latecomers.

Donate your used equipment; tax receipts are available.
We want to make hockey accessible to all girls who want to play. By donating your used equipment, you will be helping to build a girls' hockey program in Washington. Your donated gear will be loaned to beginning players. We need gear in all sizes from peewee to adult. Your cash donation to WWFHA will help pay the program fees for girls who can't afford to play. WWFHA is a member of USA Hockey, Pacific Northwest Amateur Hockey Association, Pacific Coast Amateur Hockey Association.

WWFHA is an independent hockey association and is not affiliated with any youth or adult hockey association.
WWFHA board members are volunteers. If they have a daughter on a team, they pay full fees.
WWFHA has no paid coaches.
Sponsorship is from September to August.
